About Granthuriums

At Granthuriums, everything begins with a love for velvet-leaf anthuriums. Since 2021, I’ve been collecting, growing, and selectively breeding some of the most striking species and hybrids in cultivation today. My focus is on carlablackiae, antolakii, dressleri, kunayalense, and their unique crosses - plants known for their rich textures, dark foliage, and brilliant venation.

Why Selective Breeding

Selective breeding means finding the very best clones of a species or hybrid, pairing them, and carefully evaluating the traits of their offspring. The goal isn’t just to grow rare plants, but to improve the quality of each generation with darker foliage, stronger growth habits, compact forms, and unique vein or spathe coloration. Every plant I release has been chosen with purpose.

More Than Just Plants

When I started this journey, I realized reliable information on growing velvet-leaf anthuriums was either hard to find or scattered across forums and social media. Granthuriums was created not only as a shop, but also as a place where collectors and growers can find organized, practical, and trustworthy information on cultivation and care.

From detailed grow setups and lighting guides to species profiles and breeding notes, my goal is to make learning accessible while sharing the same techniques I use in my own collection.

How I Grow

All of my plants are grown in semi-hydroponic systems, primarily in pon or tree fern. This method allows for consistent moisture, strong root development, and healthier long-term growth. From the smallest seedlings to mature mother plants, each is raised with care in a controlled environment designed to highlight their best traits.

The Experience I Aim to Create

When you order from Granthuriums, you’re not just getting a plant, you’re receiving the result of years of experimentation, patience, and passion. Every package is carefully packed, insulated, and monitored so your plant arrives safely. And if something goes wrong, I work with you personally, because I believe this hobby is about connection as much as it is about plants.
